Book Series: Shield Song

Shield Song will be a three book adult fantasy series set in Kishana, an ancient world similar to our own Copper Age, with no slavery, no patriarchy, and no empires. That is, until now.

The series started with the question: if a peaceful ancient society could create a magical artifact to protect its people, what would that be?

Book 1: Shield of the Goddess

Shala was born into a world without slavery. She alone has the magical gift to touch minds. She alone is the priestess foretold to break the first empire, but only by using a legendary shield with divine power. When she discovers that the shield is gone, she sets out on a desparate journey to bring it back before her city falls to the empire.

When she is ambushed by hunters of the empire, only the intervention of Jenan, a soldier from her city, saves her quest from ruin. When Jenan joins her quest, all seems well until growing attraction to each other complicates matters. The shield is for women alone. If Jenan touches it, he will die. Shala can't let that happen, but is Shala ready to face the shield alone?
